Beware the Weally Wild Wide Wight Wist Wecovewy

The last two Thursday’s I’ve dropped into the public swim at Consett on my way home from work, but an appointment for a much needed haircut put paid to this plan. Leaving me marooned and in need of some water time (if I was to maintain this February Fitness lark).

My solution was to swing back through Stanley and catch the Public Masters session. I think this is rapidly becoming my favourite session of the week as my new besty lane mates, Claire and Sharon (who I discovered is a Jelly Baby fiend) have no history of being competitive swimmers but just get stuck in and try and deal with everything Evil Mutant Swim Coach throws at them it’s a great lane, earthy and very honest, Girl Power!

stanleyWe got in and started the session swimming in exactly the same direction as we had on Tuesday only for some reason the Guys lane next to us had changed direction and I clattered one of the blokes who was swimming towards me. Ouch (he stopped I didn’t more girl power!).

We changed direction at the start of the next repeat, but about 800 metres further on in the set I fell foul of a wild right recovery from Sharon when I clattered her, double Ouch but neither of us stopped, yet more girl power!

lane-rageWhilst I am of course reluctant to take responsibility for these reckless deeds it does occur to me that I am the common denominator the “Clatterer in chief” if you will with the bruised forearms to prove it.

I came across this video whilst procrastinating earlier this week I think it shows I’m a bit of an amateur when it comes to lane rage.
