Ooh this trial is close to the end, only 4 more days left of my mini binge! and I’m creeping ever closer to that 100,000 metres mark, thanks to a trip to Newcastle Masters “Saddo” session, I mean who else goes swimming at 8:30pm on a Friday night? I realise that I’ve wittered on about this before here
I was disappointed that EMSC 7.0 was on holiday he’s always good for some caustic piss taking, but it did make for a fairly steady session. A test of my commitment came when selecting which lane I was going to swim in.
I chose to hang off the back of the girls in lane 4 rather than drop down into lane 5 or 6 and survived ok (wasn’t lapped so that’s a bonus) I did discover that swimming on fish and chips and half a tub of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream (even if it’s a seemingly appropriate flavour like phish food) is not to be recommended.
I also finally managed to rive the packaging off a “hits of the eighties” CD which had been kicking around my car for a couple of weeks so I had a rather nostalgic drive squawking along to some great old classics. Sadly I have failed in my attempts to embed them in this blog.
