The First Law of Swimming Training

500thI was a bit slow on the uptake (now there’s a novelty!) and realised that last Sunday’s blog post was a bit of a milestone as it was my 500th post (albeit most of them can be found on my old site here).

Consett are caught in the no mans land between the closing of one pool and the opening of the other so there was no swimming there this afternoon and I found myself trundling across to Newcastle for the second part of my weekend chlorine fix.

kazan 9As I arrived I was desperately praying that it wouldn’t be another HRH EMSC 8.0 Test Set special. I hit lucky because not only was there no test set, there was no EMSC 8.0, although that didn’t stop him inflicting 4.4k on us by proxy.

I wasn’t the only one suffering, you could tell it had been a tough afternoon as there was no chat in the changing rooms afterwards, an excellent example of Binge’s first law of swimming training, i.e.. the quality and volume of the chat after a session is inversely proportional to the distance and speed swum in the session.
