Oops just in case anyone was wondering the challenge is still on. A couple of swims in the public session at Consett on Friday and Saturday brought my monthly total to 58,500 and kept me on track for the swimming every day during February.
I’ve fallen behind with the blogging because of a busy weekend. The highlight being a trip to the world’s most sophisticated seaside resort Blackpool, to swim the North West Regional Championships.
This starts in the middle of the night on Sunday (warm up 8 am) so I’m currently encamped in a Premier Inn within striking district of the pool with Judo and Sumo and having just finished off our second bottle of wine (a rather fine Shiraz which turned our lips a very healthy shade of purple) we’ve called it a day.
I’m not sure if that this is truly an appropriate preparation for tomorrow’s exertions and we must be getting sensible in our old age because we unanimously decided against opening the third bottle.
After Thursday’s exertions see here the last two days have been fairly steady although there was nothing gentle about the gym session I did on Friday…
God I truly hate “Turkish Get Ups” who on earth invented them! Also having just googled them and watched people doing them properly on YouTube I realise that mine are absolutely pants.
Friday and Saturday’s efforts in the pool rather lacking in originality.
