Getting ahead of ourselves.

Monthly Total 92,600 metres

With the February Fitness Challenge almost finished I’m beginning to think ahead (I know that is the most unbingelike thing) and more specifically how I can keep this streak going. I don’t mean swimming everyday or even swimming over 25k per week but a bit of consistency would probably make me feel much better.

One of the problems I’ve got is which sessions should I drop? as although you wouldn’t think it to read my incessant whinging and moaning but I’ve rather enjoyed  getting back into the water. I also need to think about how far I should be swimming each week.

Budapest 14th -20th August

To give myself something to aim for I’ve entered the World Masters in Budapest so I suppose trying to make the top ten in all three breaststroke events might be an achievable goal, although I anticipate that the entry will be yuge.

Actually going into a major championships with a semblance of fitness might be a good start, although there’s plenty of time between now and August to completely bugger all of this good work up!

For this afternoon’s outing only me and big Clarkie turned up and, being sans coach and sans session, he gallantly suggested that we did whatever I wanted so I came up with the workout below; being mindful of the fact that he swims way way faster than me.

I stayed in during the public session which followed to add the 450 to my swim down
