As if Brexit, Trump, Oscargate, and the sacking of Claudio Ranieri wasn’t enough Nic Latty, sent me a screen shot of the current British Decathlon rankings. And there it was, proof positive that the World truly has gone mad!
Because much to my astonishment nestling at number 5, was the Bingeswimmer no less and she was not just comfortably in the top ten but above the one and only Jane Asher.
Now before you all accuse me of spreading “fake news” or delusions of grandeur, I should point out that Jane’s amassed her points after only 5 swims where I have rather cunningly managed to complete a full decathlon.
Somehow I don’t think she’ll be worrying about me come the end of the year.
Anyway today is the penultimate day of the February Fitness Challenge and a double dip took me to within a 1000 metres of the 100k mark, so I can take it easy tomorrow (if I want to.)
This evening’s workout was pretty hard, the rest intervals were pretty short and I struggled to keep going (as did the rest of my lane).
