Quantum Leap (in pain)

Swimming Cat

Now when this blog appeared on another channel there was a tendency to whinge about the fact that Evil Mutant Swim Coach 1.0 had a bit of a fixation about giving us 100’s on a Sunday; for example this one this one  and this one to name three!

So I rock up at training this afternoon to find that after Dryday Friday EMSC 1.0 thought it would be a good idea to swim no less than 18 (yes that’s EIGHTEEN!!!) of them, now I know 18 is not a particularly large number but the catch was they were meant to be fast!

Out of my depth
Overwhelmed, out of my depth & in pain

You’ll have noticed ( well I realise you probably haven’t been remotely interested) that swimming 100’s in training under 90 seconds is a bit of a rarity in Binge World, so the thought of doing 3 sets of 6 of them at speed was rather daunting.

4 of us had turned up for the session, little and big Clarkie and Sparky Walton which left me, somewhat predictably, hanging off the back but determined in the week of international women’s day to do my bit as the sole representative of my gender. I figured 87’s -89’s might just about be doable and set off.

To my amazement I found myself holding sub 85’s which although wasn’t easy was controlled and steady. Obviously I need to have coffee and chocolate brownie for breakfast more often!
