Do you ever have one of those days when absolutely nothing goes right? Thursday for example I leap out of bed at 6:54am to catch a 7:15am gym session, (and yes you did read that correctly a 7:15 am gym session), and can’t locate my car keys.
No matter I can pinch Teenage Triathletes’s wheels, but as I walk out the house I realise that my gym kit is mouldering in the back seat of my car which over the course of the week morphs into a bit of a graveyard for swim gear, goggles, pullbouys towels and sweaty gym gear.
So race back in and scoop up another bunch of kit and spare trainers but manage to forget to pick up shower gel and shampoo.
Aching after a brutal leg session I make my way to the Quayside and spend the morning in court trying to deal with a rather difficult litigant in person assisted by a Judge who had read the papers and clearly did not want to hear the case, so rather skilfully coaxed my opponent off the ledge and into the realms of reasonableness.
We were sent away to draft and sign an agreed order, having gone through the terms of the document I proferred my pen and indicated where he should sign. He obliged with a huge X marks the spot. Mmmh, I invited him to sign it properly and his response was “that’s it” and walked out muttering about not knowing how I can sleep at night.
Return to parking ticketed car… and the delights of a court user meeting because the Ministry of Justice think it is a good idea to transfer most of my cases from Newcastle court (approximately 30 – 40 minutes away) to Teeside (approximately 60 – 70 minutes away by car but) 2:45minutes away by public transport, that’s assuming all of the 4 buses you have to catch are on time.
After all of that I couldn’t face returning to the office to catch up on everything that’s been piling up while I was out so I headed off to Stanley for the Public Masters Session where I spent a rather strenuous hour chasing Queenie Reed up and down the pool sadly without the company of the Spice Girls who had chosen to give the session a miss.
I know I’ve been rubbish at blogging my swims for the last month but in case anyone is interested here they are and yes I’m still making it to the pool quite regularly. I apologise in advance for the formatting problem around the 15th March not sure what’s going on there but It’s too complex for me to fix.
