Oops another slip up on the training front with no swimming last week , and walked onto th pool side amidst hoots of derision from Queenie Reid, who then mentioned (at least 5 times in the hour session) that she was off to Tenerife next week and would look for a 50metre pool to keep her training going, Yeah right in your dreams Joan! You must think I was born yesterday.
So feeling extremely envious I struggled through this little tester, starting off leading the lane but gradually dropping to the back until I was gamely hanging on for dear life. I must confess at this point that the words fast and steady are all a little relative and the whole thing ended up as a continuous swim!
My worst fears imaginable then occurred in the changing rooms, as I was encouraged (or should that be coerced) by Queenie Reid to swim tomorrow. What two consecutive days!
